MediaCross is looking to add a Mid- to Senior-Level Traffic Manager to our dynamic team in St. Louis.

We are seeking a confident and experienced Traffic Manager for our team in St. Louis, to traffic projects both internally and externally through our full-service agency. The goal? To keep things moving under pressure, on deadline and on budget. This position may be called a Project Manager by other organizations.
As the Traffic Manager, you will report directly to the CEO, and will be expected to direct the workflow and mediate between our various teams to ensure priority deadlines are clearly set and met. You’ll need to be insanely organized, have a keen eye for detail, and effectively juggle multiple responsibilities. You’ll also need to be adaptable and have the confidence to tell it like it is, with a diplomatic touch.

Traffic all projects, internal and external
Independently mediate between various teams to ensure priority deadlines are clearly set and met
Review current and future timelines and job statuses with necessary team members
Reschedule project timelines based on new or changing priorities, and ensure changes are clearly communicated and understood by all parties
Manage the freelance pool and identify and effectively communicate freelance needs, including cost estimates and timelines. Additionally, you will be integral to the freelancer’s transition into our workflow – getting them up to speed on internal processes and connected to internal tools needed for the job.
Work with external vendors to request production cost estimates and develop production schedules
Report to leadership about current workflow, and communicate any possible issues such as workload, timelines or resource needs
Work with account service team on preparing and submitting individual project reconciliations that look at budgeted vs. actual time used
Manage our time tracking solution, running project-level reports and reporting to leadership on projected vs. actual working hours
Be responsible for running semi-weekly project status meetings (i.e. Stand Up) with the team and confidently address any concerns re: workflow or timelines
Create the schedule for new jobs and open all jobs in our trafficking toolset. Traffic manager will also be responsible for job archival.
Four-year degree in communications, business or related field
Four to seven years of experience in a traffic manager or project manager role within a corporate communications or agency environment
Experienced and confident communicator with the ability to handle stressful situations judiciously and empathetically
Strong knowledge of and experience using Basecamp and other web-based project management tools
Strong project management / trafficking skills and understanding of project workflows
Understanding of print production processes and terminology, and understanding of the creative process preferred
Successful experience in evaluating reasonability of timelines for project deliverables and deadlines
Experience and proven success in a deadline-driven environment or an environment where a high degree of self-motivation was necessary
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a keen eye for spelling and grammar
Impeccable attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
Strong interpersonal and team building capabilities
Ability to take on multiple projects and work in a flexible environment
Adept at thinking on his/her feet
Experienced with MS office, with strong experience in Excel
